The trade deadline is in the rearview mirror now, fortunately, as all rumors and speculation are now complete.

With the flurry of moves yesterday made by Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere. Here is a good cheat sheet to keep every Flyers in the know of what the team obtained, player recalls, and some other important notes.

The Flyers traded Scott Laughton, Erik Johnson, and Andrei Kuzmenko. They received a 2027 first round pick (Top 10 protected), a third round pick in 2027, seventh round pick in 2025, Givani Smith, and prospect Nikita Grebenkin.

Briere also sent Toronto a fourth round pick in 2025 and a sixth round pick in 2027. He also sent the Los Angeles Kings a seventh round pick in 2025.

The Flyers also retained 50% of Andrei Kuzmenko’s salary, and 50% of Laughton’s salary, as well. Unfortunately, the Flyers cannot retain anymore contracts, as they have three on the books now: Kevin Hayes, Scott Laughton, Andrei Kuzmenko. Fortunately, Kuzmenko’s salary retention will fall off on July 1, 2025, as he becomes a UFA (Unrestricted Free Agent).

With all the moves, the Flyers recalled Rodrigo Abols, Olle Lycksell, and Emil Andrae from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. As Danny Briere noted in his post trade presser, Andrae, more than likely, is up for good with the big club. Also, Aleksei Kolosov was sent back to Lehigh, before all these trades took place.

It should be noted the Flyers sent Grebenkin and Smith to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, as well. Grebenkin is a friend of Matvei Michkov’s, so I expect him with the club next season.

Alex Bump, more than likely, will sign his ELC (Entry-Level-Contract) when his season concludes with Western Michigan University. Briere did indicate that the Flyers may be interested in bringing Jett Luchanko back with the big club, when his season ends with the Guelph Storm.

  1. The 3rd Round pick for Kuzmenko is a 2027 pick, not a 2025 pick. Not really helping us keep it all straight, Jamie.

    1. It’s all good and I appreciate you. I rechecked the Flyers press release and had the picks flipped from the LA deal. Have a good day. Thank you
