The Flyers held their final Morning Skate before the last home game of the season which takes place in Philly tonight. Spirits were high. Unfortunately it’s a low to no pressure situation for some players. For others it is the next to the last chance to prove their worth to the team going into the off-season. Overall the mood was very upbeat.

The game day skate does not always have a ton of participants but today the ice was full. The mood was loose but the pace was swift with the team running drills, breaking in, breaking out, and everyone involved.
The Flyers take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at the Wells Fargo. Faceoff is at 7 PM. The Phillies are also in town tonight so if you are heading down to the game be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there.

There was a bit of a sentimental feel as well. With the coming of what could prove to be a busy off-season some players have to be wondering if this will be their final home game as a Philadelphia Flyer.

Last Men Standing
Long after all the other players had left the ice Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim stayed behind with the goaltenders to have some fun with a shoot-out competition.
Ivan Fedotov is not going to win this argument.

Enjoy tonight’s game, have a blast, make plenty of noise. It will be quite some time before the Boys take the ice again at home. Fall is such a long way away when your local ice hockey club does not make the playoffs. It will be such a welcome change when Springtime hockey finally returns to Philly.
