Morgan Frost remains in covid protocol, per Flyers Interim Head Coach Mike Yeo. Even if Frost were to get out of covid protocol today, he would still miss tonight’s game against the Montreal Canadiens due to the local health laws that are provided in Canada. This was established and agreed upon by the NHL and NHLPA before the season began.

For those fans that are wondering, here is some information in regards to covid protocols this season for the NHL. There is also no indication if Frost is positive:

If a player is asymptomatic, if he returns two negative tests he can exit isolation, but he has to adhere with regulations that are set forth with local health laws.

If a player has a confirmed positive test and is symptomatic, he must remain out for at least 10 days from when he originally felt symptoms. He must also be out at least 24 hours since his last fever.

Due to the local health laws in Canada, even if Morgan Frost is out of Covid protocol today he would still miss tonight’s game against the Montreal Canadiens.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be at 50% capacity starting Saturday

There are some enhanced Covid Protocol measures that were just implemented yesterday by the NHL and NHLPA, and they will last until January 7th due to the rise in Covid cases throughout the league. Some of these measures include restrictions on indoor dining on the road, and covid tests will be conducted daily again, with the exception for off days.

Again per Mike Yeo, Morgan Frost is still in Covid Protocol set forth by the league, and the Flyers conducted rapid tests yesterday that yielded no positive results to Yeo’s understanding.

In Frost’s place, Jackson Cates was it officially recalled yesterday afternoon on an emergency basis, and he will play against the Montreal Canadiens tonight. Wade Allison was in the mix for a recall, but Yeo thought Cates earned this recall.

in the end let’s hope Morgan Frost returns to full health, as the health and safety of these players are far more important than the game.
