The Flyers played a solid game last night against the reeling Edmonton Oilers. First things first, Matvei Michkov scored his first goal in the NHL, and he even potted his second career NHL goal.
Michkov just adds an element of sexiness to this orange and black squad, and he just dangles and makes plays. What I find most intriguing about his game is he doesn’t shy away from physicality, nor does he shy away from getting to the greasy areas to pot a goal.
Unfortunately, the Flyers are having trouble staying out of the box early in the season, and it killed them against the Oilers last night. They cannot take stupid penalties, against good teams. Even though, the Oilers were struggling entering this game, they are littered with great players up and down the lineup.

Morgan Frost is on fire to start the season, and it comes as no surprise as he’s playing with a great up and coming player in Michkov. Frost register ed two assists last night, so he’s off to a great start to this season.
What will happen tomorrow night against the Seattle Kraken is anyone’s guess, but the Flyers have to take control early and stay out of the box.
