The Flyers hit the ice once again for a late morning practice with 24 players on the ice: Maksim Sushko, Philippe Myers, Andy Andreoff, Travis Sanheim, Samuel Morin, Mark Friedman, Robert Hägg, Nate Prosser, Connor Bunnaman, Brian Elliott, Carter Hart, Ivan Provorov, Sean Couturier, Erik Gustafsson, Nolan Patrick, Kevin Hayes, NAK, Shayne Gostisbehere, Joel Farabee, David Kaše, Michael Raffl, Derick Pouliot, JvR, and Alex Lyon.

Of course, with missing key regulars in the lineup such as Travis Konecny, Claude Giroux, Scott Laughton, Justin Braun, Oskar Lindblom, and Jakub Voracek the lines would be shuffled in ways unimaginable to include the Power Play Units. Here were the lines and pairings from practice today:

JvR-Couturier-Farabee

Raffl-Hayes-NAK

Bunnaman-Patrick-Kaše

Morin-Andreoff-Sushko

Provorov-Myers

Sanheim-Ghost

Hägg-Gustafsson

Hart

Elliott

PP1: JVR, Couturier, Farabee, Patrick, Gustafsson

PP2: Raffl, Hayes, Kaše, Provorov, Ghost (NAK also took reps as well)

The new look fourth line has a combined 24 games played with the Flyers: Morin has played in 10 games as a Flyer, and Andreoff has played in 14 games as a Flyer. Sushko will be making his NHL debut, and quite frankly has a heck of a wrist shot. He’s a native of Belarus, and can skate…that’s half the battle, “In talking to Scott, KaÅ¡e played real well the game before called him up,” Alain Vigneault said, “Sushko is a big guy who skates well. I’m sure both of them will play real hard for us tomorrow.”

I thought Kaše and Sushko would see time with the big club at some point. These two are just too skilled to keep them with the Phantoms. At some point the gloves needed to come off, hence their call-ups.

Carter Hart broke the string on his guitar during quarantine, and perfected four ball juggling in the air. He is truly remarkable in many ways. James van Riemsdyk enters Thursday’s game on a seven game point streak amassing (4g,9a) during that span.

What will transpire tomorrow is anyone’s guess. All we do know is that the Flyers will indeed play the Rangers tomorrow night.
