Both Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim are off to great starts to the season. Sanheim has taken on a larger role, especially with the injury to Cam York. He has played 30+ minutes in a singular game three times this season already.
Travis Konecny, on the other hand, has tallied 11 goals and 11 assists in 19 games played. Simply put, he’s been phenomenal.
Before last night’s game, Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella held his usual pre-game presser. Tortorella says that Hockey Canada should be looking at both Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny. He wants both to represent their respective country of Canada.
“I don’t give a s..t about that (In regards to taking players away to represent the countries in a tournament). That’s your country,” Tortorella exclaimed yesterday.
Tortorella continues, “We got really good athletes that care. That’s a really important thing for athletes. I hope he gets an opportunity. And they got to be looking at a winger TK. “
