After a hard-fought six-game road trip, the Philadelphia Flyers are back home. While they finished with a losing record of 2-3-1, they showed plenty of fight almost every night.

The Flyers currently hold down a record of 17-18-5 with 39 points through 40 games played. They’re in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division and three points outside the second wild-card spot.

They have a chance to get revenge against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight in Philly. The Flyers lost against them in Toronto in overtime two days ago. They should now have more fire than ever to get back at them. Who will start in net? The call hasn’t been made yet, but if you ask me, I think Ivan Fedotov should be given another shot.

Fedotov, overall, didn’t play bad up in Toronto. The first goal given up was on a Ryan Poehling turnover, so the blame shouldn’t go his way. However, the second goal was completely on him. Fedotov’s rebound control gave him a bit of trouble that night. Giving him another shot in net, I think, would benefit him confidence-wise.

The game got chippy at times between the two teams, so fans have to wonder if that will carry over into tonight. Garnet Hathaway and Jake McCabe dropped the gloves at the end of the first period and while it wasn’t much of a fight, the Maple Leafs may have something to say about McCabe not returning after Hathaway landed on his head by accident. While it wasn’t intentional, the Flyers have to be ready for a response at any time.

The power play is also continuing to be lackluster this season. The Flyers had three opportunities in the game and didn’t score a single goal. While they spent the majority of the time in the offensive zone, they only managed to get two shots on goal on the first two chances. They’re going to need to get the power play going tonight if they want to win.

Tonight’s game will kick off at 7:30 pm and can only be seen on ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+.
