Flyers’ General Manager met with the media on Tuesday November 30, 2021, to update the media with injuries, and growing amounts of frustration within the fan base. Here are the notes from this meeting:
- Chuck Fletcher: “We have to get better.”
- Fletcher: “We still believe. We have a lot of work to do.”
- Fletcher said Zayde Wisdom is back with the Kingston Frontenacs. He is ready, but the surgeon wants him to wait another week. Not a surprising development given how much time he has missed. This gives him time to condition at a lower level
- Flyers Injury Report: Ryan Ellis is still week to week. Wade Allison skating, might play for the Phantoms this weekend. Nate Thompson underwent surgery today, and will miss significant time. Patrick Brown will see a hand specialist tomorrow, with a possible return of next week. Derick Brassard (Hip) day to day.
- “There’s a lot of frustration. We’re not scoring. Power play can build frustration. Confidence is down a bit,” – Chuck Fletcher. He reiterates that Kevin Hayes being back on the ice was big for the guys.
- Fletcher says the PP coaches get too much blame/credit. He says they need better entries, and be better in their zone.
- Fletcher said that he feels bad for Lappy with all the injuries and Cam York being in Covid protocol.
- Fletcher just called Ellis and “Elite” puck mover. Also, he said once again that the team needs to get better
- Fletcher said if Morgan Frost performs he would have no problem keeping him up here when everyone gets healthy. He also is hopeful of Cam York skating by the weekend.
That’s it from Fletcher folks. He is backing his coaching staff, yes the entire coaching staff. It appears it’s up to the players to perform at a high level.
