The Flyers had a busy day today, even on their off day. They trimmed their training camp roster by 14 players, and now the roster sits at 44. Here are the list of players the Flyers cut today:
Sam Hillebrandt- released from his ATO
Carson Bjarnason
Spencer Gill
Carter Sotheran
Josh Zakreski- released from his ATO
Matteo Mann
Emile Chouinard
Ethan Samson
Sam Sedley
Sawyer Boulton
Nick Capone
Alexis Gendron
Matthew Miller
Zayde Wisdom
Jett Luchanko has earned another look. Let’s see if he can play well tomorrow night, and maybe get a nine game look heading into the season.
Ethan Samson should hold his head up high, as the Flyers are high on him. He needs to be more decisive and aggressive, and going back to the Phantoms will help in these areas.

Sotheran couldn’t get going this camp due to his illness, so this cut comes as no surprise. He had a flare-up with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a condition with his heart that has lasted for the past three or four years. “I’ve had Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome for close to four years now, three or four years. But I’ve kind of controlled it, just had a little episode.”
In the end, none of these aforementioned cuts should come as a shock. Let’s see how the rest of camp goes. I do expect more roster cuts to happen on Friday possibly.
