Flyers goaltender Carter Hart was in the net today at practice after leaving Friday night’s game with an apparent injury. The Flyers have been relying heavily on Hart’s strong play as of late. His status remained in the balance over the holiday weekend and it was a real relief to see him well and on his game at the practice facility in Voorhees this afternoon. Head Coach John Tortorella responded with a confident “yes” when asked if Hart was “good to go”.
The team worked out all three goalies today Hart, Felix Sandsrom, and Samuel Ersson. Tortorella said he is not sure yet if he’ll be taking all three with him on the upcoming trip out West. Carter Hart did not take any questions today, he was in and out of the locker room in a flash. Quickly apologizing and saying that he really had to bounce. With the Flyers having had so many injuries to deal with already this season it can not be stated strongly enough how important it was to see Hart back skating with his team today.
The team looked sharp as they ran through a number of crisp drills. They looked refreshed and full of energy. The mood in the facility was extra upbeat thanks to a really good showing of fans in the building. Many younger fans were taking advantage of their holiday break from classes to get a closer look at their favorite ice hockey club.
Extra Credit: Kevin Hayes looked fresh and totally plugged in. His mood was up and his play was agressive during drills. All of the Flyers were really focused and into the session, it was a very positive day on the ice for sure.
