Cam York who played 28 games with the Flyers seems to be improving every game . Though the points may not be there he shows up in other ways. It appears that he has adjusted well to the NHL so far he has 11 points with only 1 being a goal, as defensemen his job is to defend the blue line which he has done really well.
With Cam’s time this season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms he scored three goals and registered 10 assists. Obviously, his time in the AHL made him a better overall player, and helped him learn from past mistakes. During his time with the Flyers this season he has netted one goal and chipped in 10 assists.
The 22-year-old seems to be happy with his play stating, “I feel like I’m playing some pretty good hockey, I just want to keep it going on a consistent basis. One thing I learned last year is you’ve got to be super consistent every night. I feel like I wasn’t consistent last year, and I feel like I’ve been doing a better job this year of that. It’s just trying to bring your A-game every game.” It’s a great thing to see that players are confident in there play and it definitely shows on the ice.
As the season wears on, let’s look for York to take the next step in his development. York is confident, skating well, and appears to be a confident blueliner following this recent call-up to the big club. One of the best qualities he possesses is on the offensive side of the puck is his shot accuracy. He hits the net nine times out of ten, and he showed that while quarterbacking the top Power Play unit at times last season. He was great with cycling the puck, and holding the pucks in at the blue line thus extending zone play for the Flyers.

York has been faster than I’ve personally seen him following this recent stint, and credit goes to the developmental and coaching staff in Lehigh for this. He will be a good player for years to come, and he is really shining in a good way.
