Couturier will be benched tonight, as he hasn’t been playing well. Tortorella said he has to hold people accountable, so the Captain in Couturier is no different. This is a good thing, as I know everyone wants him on the ice and playing. Maybe, just maybe the team will rally behind the Captain.
It’s frustrating to be on the bench tonight, but think about it, the coach has to show that one can play on the ice without struggling. As it stands, the Flyers are 34-26-8 and still holding a spot in the playoffs, so this is as close to a must win game as it gets.
Wait, why am I talking about the playoffs? The Flyers are close enough to make the playoffs if they can play well and get out of a funk. This has been the problem for the Flyers in just about every game lately, so let’s hope they can get back to their winning ways tonight.
