Sunday night before the Flyers game against the Dallas Stars GM Danny Briere addressed the press in the media area of the press box at the arena. Briere said that Martone may see his first game in the NHL as early as Tuesday night when the Flyers faceoff against the Capitals in Washington.

Martone was picked by the Flyers number six overall in the 2025 NHL draft. He reported to Michigan State University where he notched 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 35 games played. The 6′-3″ Canadian right winger turned 19 years of age on October 26th.

Michigan’s season came to a surprise end when they were upset by Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon. Less than 24 hours later Porter signed his NHL contract.

Another encouraging development this morning was seeing Tyson Foerster not wearing a yellow “no-contact” jersey. Last night Briere said there is no schedule in place for Foerster’s return to game action. This morning he looked like he’s champing at the bit.

Things just keep getting more and more interesting for this Flyers team as the 2025-26 regular season is quickly winding down. With just nine games left on the schedule the Flyers playoff hopes are still very much alive.
