Tyson Foerster, a key forward for the Flyers, suffered an elbow injury while playing for Team Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Championship in April. The injury developed into an infection, requiring surgery to address it. Initially, there was uncertainty about his availability for the start of the 2025-26 NHL season, with reports in July suggesting he could miss significant time. However, more recent updates are positive, especially from President Keith Jones.

Jones said yesterday that Foerster was on track to be within the lineup for game one of the season. Well, today Foerster scored the game winner in a big club scrimmage before Rookie Camp started, thus proving he’s 100% healthy and ready to go for the season.

No Jett Luchanko

Per Flyers PR, Jett Luchanko was held off the ice for precautionary reasons, with the start of training camp next week.

A first-round pick from 2024, Luchanko made the Flyers’ NHL roster out of last year’s preseason camp. He missed development camp due to a groin issue, but he hoped to be cleared for rookie camp. His progress toward securing a permanent NHL spot is a storyline to follow starting next week at Training Camp.

Alex Bump

Alex Bump was impressive today. Since joining the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL, he’s shown strong offensive output, scoring three goals and adding two assists in just three games, including a standout two-goal performance in a 5-2 playoff win against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in April 2025. His creativity, speed, and ability to generate shots—evidenced by leading the NCAA in shots on goal during his time at Western Michigan—have marked him as a promising talent.

Today, he proved he’s NHL-ready, potentially a middle-six winger with top-six impact, capable of 40-55 points per season in his prime. Bump’s been knocking on the Flyers’ roster door, and if he continues to have a great camp when it opens next week, then anything is possible.

Bump made precision- tape to tape passes today, and even scored a goal on Carson Bjarnason.

Denver Barkey

Barkey was healthy, and able to attend rookie camp today. He’s obviously been cleared healthwise, and Barkey made his presence known. He made an insane spin pass, behind his back for a goal by Jacob Gaucher early at camp.

He also had no problem skating today, and that yet again solidifies he’s healthy and ready to go. Let’s see how things go tomorrow night, at the first of two rookie series games this weekend against the New York Rangers.
