Denver Barkey has been absolutely electric for the London Knights in the OHL Playoffs, at least before his injury. His Game 2 stat line—2 goals, 3 assists for a 5-point night in a 6-3 win over the Owen Sound Attack on March 30, 2025. That gave the Knights a 2-0 series lead, and Barkey was clearly the catalyst.

For the playoffs so far, he has nine goals and 11 assists in 11 games played. That’s clutch as heck, especially for a Flyers prospect like Barkey, who’s showing why Philly’s front office is keeping a close eye on him. The Knights have dominated the OHL Playoffs, and Barkey’s playmaking and finishing were on full display before his injury.

Barkey’s been a standout all season. He’s the Knights’ captain, a Philadelphia Flyers prospect (drafted 95th overall in 2023), and he’s got a knack for stepping up in big moments. In Game 1, he chipped in with a goal and an assist in a 6-1 rout, so he’s been consistent from the jump. His chemistry with linemates like Easton Cowan and Sam O’Reilly is lethal, and it’s no surprise the Flyers’ brass was there to witness the show.

Off Ice- Barkey’s Buds

Barkey’s not just tearing it up on the ice, but also making a real difference off it with his Barkey’s Buds program. Launched in the 2024-25 season with the London Knights Official Fan Club, this initiative is all about giving back to the London community by providing kids and families in London Housing the chance to attend Knights games, get inspired, and even connect with hockey opportunities. Barkey’s committed to supporting seven housing communities this season, and the program’s already had a big impact—kids who’ve attended games are buzzing about wanting to play hockey and dreaming of becoming future OHL stars. They are even getting hooked up with equipment and league opportunities, which is huge for opening doors to the sport.

The program’s funded partly through the sale of Barkey’s Buds t-shirts, creating a positive vibe for the families involved. Barkey himself has said how special it is to give kids the same kind of opportunities he had growing up, especially since he’s in his fourth year with the Knights and feels a deep connection to the community. Sav Neth, the fan club President who grew up in London Housing, has praised Barkey’s genuine commitment, noting how life-changing the experience has been for the kids. Neth really took Barkey’s Buds to the next level.

Even while racking up points in the playoffs—like his monster 3 goals, 4 assists in two games against Owen Sound—Barkey’s leadership as team Captain shines through in his community work. It’s rare to see a 19-year-old balance that kind of on-ice dominance with such meaningful off-ice impact.
