The Flyers officially recalled forward prospect Denver “The Energizer Bunny” Barkey from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, on December 19, 2025.
Additionally, defenseman Egor Zamula has cleared waivers and has been loaned to Lehigh Valley.
The recall creates a roster spot after Zamula’s demotion and comes amid injuries (including Tyson Foerster’s season-ending surgery). Barkey, a 20-year-old third-round pick (95th overall) in 2023, has performed solidly in his first pro season with seven goals and nine assists (16 points) in 26 AHL games.
He will make his NHL Debut tomorrow (December 20, 2025) against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, wearing jersey #52. This is a well earned call-up, rewarding his high-energy, hard-working style.
