Denver Barkey and the London Knights advanced to the 2025 Memorial Cup Final after defeating the Moncton Wildcats 5-2 in the semi-final on May 30, 2025.
Barkey, the team Captain and a Flyers prospect, contributed a goal and an assist in the game, helping the Knights secure their spot in the championship game against the Medicine Hat Tigers on June 1, 2025, in Rimouski, Quebec. The Knights, who had a strong 55-11-2-0 regular season record and lost just one playoff game en route to their second straight OHL title, are aiming to win their first Memorial Cup since 2016 and avenge their loss in the 2024 final to the Saginaw Spirit
Moments before the game against Moncton, both Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk were named to the OHL Second All-Star Team for the 2024-25 season, as announced on May 30, 2025. This marks the second consecutive year that both Flyers’ prospects have earned OHL All-Star honors, with Bonk previously named to the First All-Star Team and Barkey to the Second All-Star Team in 2023-24.
Both of their contributions during the 2025 Memorial Cup were notable, with Barkey recording one goal and one assist in the Final, while Bonk tallied two assists in the tournament.
