After the Delaware Thunder traded away leading scorers, such as, Brandon Contratto, and Ryan Marker. Evgenii Demin really stepped up in a big way for a young Thunder club that really needed some direction, much like Kevin Hayes did for the Flyers. Demin just had a knack for the net, but was a heck of a glue piece on and off the ice for the Thunder.
Demin, a native of Russia, played in his first season in the FPHL, and really had no problems adjusting to the North American ice. The young 22-year-old just wanted to be placed on the map. Demin razzled and dazzled as a member of the Thunder by tallying 13 goals, and 34 assists for a total of 47 points in 43 games played, but it wasn’t just his goal scoring abilities that placed him on the map. It was the way he carried himself on and off the ice, just doing whatever was asked of him by Head Coach Charlie Pens Sr.
This young man in Demin just has a knack for the net. He’s fast, and Demin is an asset while short-handed. He tallied two short-handed goals over the course of the season, as Demin does everything Head Coach Charlie Pens Sr. asks of him. The young man has a wicked wrist shot, to pair along with his great vision of the ice.
This young 22-year-old in Demin appears to be a natural, and a player that knows how to score goals. He looked good this past season for the Thunder especially with the way he carries the puck up the ice, and the way he kills penalties. If he keeps producing at the rate he is currently doing, the sky could be the limit for him.
A former Silver Medalist of the Belarus Cup in 2018-19 in Demin, had some wheels in just his first season of Professional hockey. Demin stands at 5’9″ and weighs 170 pounds, not the most sizable guy, but flashy. He really became a player that his teammates looked up to if they needed some direction, or whatever the case maybe. For the season, he tallied some big goals to include a game winner, and one Power Play Goal, so he plays in every facet that the game offers.
Demin is exactly the player this young Thunder team needed, especially after trading away some assets like Marker and Contratto. This Thunder team could really become a deadly one in the future, and Demin would be an integral part in making sure that happens.
