Dan Vladar, new Flyers’ Goaltender, has a new Flyers’ themed goalie mask. He unveiled it on his IG account yesterday, and it screams Philly:
He previously unveiled a mask with the Calgary Flames for the 2024-25 season, featuring a tribute to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau with their portraits and doves. Additionally, another mask themed around Iron Maiden was mentioned during his time with Calgary, but he obviously wanted to move on from both masks.

Vladar was signed to address goaltending instability after a challenging 2024-25 season where the Flyers’ goaltenders (Samuel Ersson, Ivan Fedotov, and Aleksei Kolosov) posted a combined .872 save percentage. Vladar, a 27-year-old Czech goaltender, recorded a 12-11-6 record, .898 save percentage, and 2.80 goals-against average in 30 games with Calgary last season.

Flyers’ General Manager Danny Brière described the signing as creating an “open competition” for the starting role, with Vladar competing alongside Samuel Ersson, while Ivan Fedotov and Kolosov are likely lower in the depth chart. Vladar expressed confidence in taking on a larger role, citing his improved performance late in the 2024-25 season after recovering from surgery.
