Dan Vladar has been a standout performer for the Flyers in the 2025-26 season, and he’s the team’s MVP so far. He signed with the Flyers as a free agent on July 1, 2025, on a two-year, $6.7 million deal after spending the prior four seasons with the Calgary Flames.

In his first season in Philly, through late February/early March 2026 (with the season ongoing), Vladar has posted strong numbers: 19-9-6 in 36 games, a 2.40 GAA, .908 Save Percentage, and he’s been a key reason the Flyers are competitive and pushing for a playoff spot.:

  • Vladar Is clearly the Flyers’ MVP of the season, and an “irreplaceable leader” both on and off the ice.
  • Flyers Nitty Gritty has called him a “shoo-in” for the first-half MVP and the odds-on favorite for the Bobby Clarke Trophy (Flyers’ team MVP award) by season’s end.
  • Vladar has been “(rock solid to just flat out awesome,” while making big save after big save in key victories.

He also represented Czechia at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics, winning his debut and gaining international experience. While skaters like Travis Konecny (team leader in points) or Trevor Zegras (thriving after a trade) get attention,

Leader off ice

Jamie Drysdale said that Vladar has been instrumental off the ice, “He’s the loudest guy in the room. He does so much for us off the ice.”

Vladar’s consistent Goaltending has been the backbone—especially in a rebuild/transition year for Philly. If he keeps this up, he could lock in that Bobby Clarke Trophy come April. He’s been a fantastic pickup for the Flyers!!!
