Chuck Fletcher gave an update on the Flyers Covid situation, with who’s available and who’s out. Like moose teams throughout the NHL, the Flyers are trying to navigate around another season of Covid and uncertainty, from Taxi Squad rosters to a normal roster this is becoming the norm. Here are some important notes from Fletcher’s press conference:
- The Flyers have placed Derick Brassard, Carter Hart and Scott Laughton in Covid Protocol.
- The Flyers have recalled Jackson Cates, Gerry Mayhew and Felix Sandström to the Taxi Squad roster from the Phantoms.
- Max Willman is out of Covid Protocol
- Chuck Fletcher is hoping Morgan Frost will be cleared this afternoon. He mentioned some type of cardiac screening.
- Kevin Hayes is asymptomatic and he is hoping that he will travel tomorrow with the Flyers with the hopes of coming off at some point during this trip.
- Fletcher says Felix Sandström might get an opportunity to make his Flyers debut.
- Chuck Fletcher says they are expecting to play Wednesday.
- Fletcher says no one is majorly sick “Fortunately”.
It’s like Claude Giroux said following Fletcher’s presser, “There are no excuses,” to succeed, especially with most teams throughout the NHL experiencing players in Covid Protocols, as well.
The Flyers have to get off to a good start against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, regardless of who is in the lineup…period.
