Quarantine is not easy for anyone. This is true for both fans and Flyers alike, as we all have been waiting for a long time to watch some hockey and return to normalcy. Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Eventually hockey will return to the Wells Fargo Center at some point.

Nobody is more anxious to return to action than the young phenom Carter Hart. At just 21-years-old, Hart is taking this quarantine in like a pro. Now back home in Alberta, he’s staying in shape and staying strong to ensure he is ready when or if the season resumes, “It’s kind of the same thing here with lock down, can’t really do too much,” said Hart, “I have a bike in the basement, some free weights, and all my bands that I’m used to.” According to Hart, coaches are sending him programs and exercises to do and he’s making sure he’s staying sharp and ready when the time comes.

The pause is difficult for everybody. The NHL playoffs were originally set to begin April 9th, and the Flyers would be in the mix. We all know how hot they were when the pause began, and they were showing signs of being true competitors down the stretch, “It sucks not playing hockey right now, but there’s bigger things going on in the world,” Hart said, again Hart is just 21-years-old. Flyers fans are incredibly lucky to have such a mature young man in net for them for the foreseeable future, “Everybody is in the same boat,” Hart said, “We all have to try to do our part.” Hart also talked about the hardworking individuals in healthcare systems and essential services, calling on everybody to do their part and stay inside so that normal life can resume as soon as possible.

Normal life will resume. Hockey will come back, and Hart will be ready. According to Hart, the team will likely need a few weeks to get back on the ice and feel the puck before they can play games, “You don’t want to rush into it right away,” said Hart, “It’s important that whenever we come back we get the proper time to get back into hockey shape.”

Hopefully all you Flyers fans are staying safe, sanitary, and healthy during these difficult times. When you’re feeling down, just remember that eventually our young phenom netminder and the rest of the team will be back on the ice winning games for us. We’ll be there all the way to cheer them on.
