Last night was the first time the Flyers scored first, and for their efforts they are now 1-0 when scoring first this season. It’s the Torts effect, or the Flyers new slogan they are living by early in the season, Fueled by Philly.
The Flyers appear to have formed a new identity, one that includes resilience. Folks your Philadelphia Flyers are 4-1. I know it shocks many, but Carter Hart is on fire with a 4-0 record, while sporting a .949 Save Percentage.
Hart backstopped 30 blasts, and he finished the game with a .969 Save Percentage. He tracked the pucks well, he energized his club. Finally they beat a tough Nashville team, who will be contending for the playoffs, as they usually do year in and year out. The Flyers defense has been noticeably improved from last season, as well. They aren’t hanging Carter Hart or Felix Sandström out to dry, it’s been a pleasure to watch. The Ivan Provorov and Tony DeAngelo works well together.
Joel Farabee needed a good game, and he finally got it. He netted his first goal of the season last night, and chipped in two assists to boot. It was good to see him confident, especially since John Tortorella said he wanted more scoring from people following the game against the Florida Panthers. Believe it or not Zack MacEwen also scored his first goal of the season off a rebound.
Kevin Hayes has quietly gotten off to a solid start point wise. He leads the orange and black with eight points after netting his first goal of the season last night. The Flyers are now 35-7-3 in games that Kevin Hayes scores a goal.
Hart was spectacular last night, and he placed the Flyers on his back. For his efforts, he made timely saves, tough saves. Hart was rocking, “The PK has been good.” Hart said following the game.

Nic Deslauriers then continued, “Hartsy (Carter Hart) played a hell of a game again.”. Tonight their second back-to-back of the season against Oskar Lindblom and the San Jose Sharks. For the Flyers efforts, they are 1-0 in the second end of a back to back this season.
