The Flyers identity is to battle and play hard, while remaining competitive. This is a young Flyers team, so hopefully this team continues to find their footing, but now they will get without the services of Carter Hart for the time being.
Per Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere:
“Carter Hart has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons. The club will have no further comment at this time.“
Fortunately, this young Flyers team claws their way back into games, and continues to fight in large part to some timely saves by Hart and Samuel Ersson. This young man in Hart has electrified the fan base, and has cemented himself as the guy between the pipes for the orange and black for years to come. Let’s make no mistake about it, this is Hart’s net this year. There is no Goalie controversy in Philadelphia for once, as some have thought when Ersson was tabbed as the starter between the pipes for the Flyers tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In the end, we are here for Carter Hart and his family. Nothing has been said that this relates to the Hockey Canada Investigation, so hopefully thing is okay with his family and his billet family. He did tell media training camp it’s something health-wise happened to a member of his billet family, so hopefully this isn’t correlated to that.
