Bumps in the road happen for everyone, whether it’s at work or at home. That’s just part of life. Everyone will have a bump in the road at some point or another, and athletes are no different. They are humans too, it’s the nature of the business. Fortunately, Hart and the Flyers continue to fight through “Speed” bumps, as they are enduring an up and down season at the moment. However, believe it or not Hart has played well and has given his team a shot on most nights, and he has made 10 bell save after 10 bell save at times.

Hart got off to a great start to the season, with his Goals Against Average well under two, and his Save Percentage was well over a .920, as well. Now the orange and black and Hart went on a winning streak, but are now winning one and losing one. None of that fault lies on Hart, however. Hart currently has an 13-14-6 record, 3.00 GAA, and a .907 Save Percentage.

How many times have we heard, “Hart stands on his head for us. Hartsy’s making some big saves,” from Scott Laughton, or “He bailed us out a few times. That always helps,”  from Kevin Hayes.

For Hart’s efforts, he continues to move up the Flyers franchise leaderboard, and after playing against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday he moved into a 5th place tie with 179 games played All-Time as a Goaltender with Pete Peeters.

They continue to battle and play hard, while remaining competitive. This is a young Flyers team, so hopefully this teams finds their identity at some point since they are becoming healthier.

“Hart was good,” Scott Laughton said following a game. That seems to be the common niche this season from players post game press conferences, or “He really bailed us out tonight.”

Hart and the Flyers continue to get better as a team. Yes, the team was decimated with injuries at one point, especially up front, however, they can play the right way. If the team played the right way and stopped with the self-inflicting wounds with turnovers, then this team may not be in the predicament of currently being on the playoff bubble right now. Let’s hope they get their acts together, and are able to right the ship against the Detroit Red Wings tonight at 7pm.
