Cara Morey is one heck of a coach for the women’s Princeton hockey program. She embarks in her fifth season for the program this coming season, and Morey is well decorated, “During the COVID year when our season was canceled, I spoke a little bit with Brent Flahr and had come into a couple meetings on analytics just to stay involved while our season was on hold,” Morey said. “Then as development camp was approaching, they had asked if I’d like to come out and be a guest coach. That’s why I’m here now.”

During her tenure for the Princeton program she has amassed a 43-18-5 record in ECAC Hockey, to which they won its first ECAC tournament title, won an Ivy League championship, and has qualified for two NCAA quarterfinals. One last bit of detail she also set the all-time wins record for the program, “it’s an incredible opportunity because we haven’t been able to coach for quite a bit,” Morey said. “We’re about to start our preseason at Princeton, so this is just perfect timing where I can get back into the swing of things, back into coaching, back into talking hockey. I’m just really looking forward to seeing the developmental differences. Maybe how they approached the game a little bit differently. See if I can pick up a few things and then hopefully add a few things for them.”

Today on August 30, 2021 she led Flyers Developmental Camp as a guest coach. She just continues to add to her scroll.

In the picture above she is giving instructions to a hometown native from Phoenixville, PA Owen McLaughlin and Wade Allison. She will continue to lead Flyers developmental camp this week as a guest coach, and Morey deserves it.

“The players have been great already. They just want to learn, and they just want to get better. They really don’t care who it’s coming from. If you can help them, then they want the knowledge. They’ve been extremely respectful. A lot of them coming up, introducing themselves right off the bat. Any way I can help, I’m out there to help. We’ve been talking a lot of technique, strategy, right down to the fine details of how to plant their feet, where their hand should be. It’s been awesome.”– Cara Morey

Flyers Notes from camp:

Laczynski says he has to play good defensively, “I’ll do whatever it takes to make the NHL.”

“North America best in the world.”– Linus Sandin

Sandin gives no thoughts to going back home.
