Believe it or not there was a lot of good that happened this past Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers hosted Pride Night, it’s a special event that transpires once a year throughout the NHL. It’s a night that’s cherished by many, and it’s a celebration. Hockey is for everyone, and it’s time to share the goodness that occurred that night.
Scott Laughton and JvR
These two have served as like ambassadors for the LGBTQ community. Together the pair have launched a program in support of local LGBTQ youth in the Philadelphia area. They even hosted 50 plus members of the community on this particular night. It gets better, the duo are donating four tickets to local LGBTQ organizations for 20 home games throughout the 2022-2023 season.
“Me and JvR just left the locker room with 50 people from the community. It was a great night, great initiative. Amazing initiative, and something that’s been close to me for a long time, Reemer too. I’ll leave it at that.” – Scott Laughton
Laughton has really stepped up as Captain like material this season. It’s great to see him take the next step in a leadership role.
This next section is a set of pictures that was taken from a very good photographer, and our very own Shaylah Rice. Rice provided some fantastic shots and it really captures the special night it truly was:
This was a special night for so many, and one situation should not overshadow the goodness of this event or the special night it was for so many. Hockey is for everyone.
Gladd to see Laughton taking on a real leadership role with this team. It is nice to see him putting himself out in front with play on the ice and great leadership off the ice. He has really stepped up his game. He has earned the captain’s C on his jersey. It was a great night for all who participate.
