It’s crazy to believe that Cam Atkinson, who has yet to play one game for the Flyers, is a fan favorite. However, that’s exactly what has transpired in a few months since joining the team. His character just seems to resonate with the fans in a good way. Some may feel that Atkinson is one of them.

The Flyers PR Guru Zack Hill told me that Cam Atkinson, Gritty, and Grandma Marge were big hits in Voorhees yesterday. Grandma Marge just wanted to see Cam’s name on the back of the jersey, that’s why she wore it backwards.
What a story as Atkinson continues to succeed off the ice. This is what Billy is about, and this is why Atkinson was brought to this city by General Manager Chuck Fletcher. He has been all smiles since joining the Flyers:
“I personally think I’m going to fit in very well. Know a couple guys on the team already. Special teams, I think I’ll help out as well, especially with PK. I think I fit the mold pretty well. I’m super excited.” – Cam Atkinson said after being traded to the Flyers
Atkinson has turned out to be one heck of an addition already. He gets it, and the fans get him too. Is it October 15th yet????
