Hockey fans throughout the World can rejoice finally the greatest sport on Earth is about to return, Woohoo-Yay-Dancing starts now.

The hope is for the NHL and NHLPA to have a BOG vote this weekend (Sunday or Monday as reported by Pierre LeBrun), and the hope is both parties agree so the season can begin on January 13, 2021. Flyers Training Camp would begin January 3, 2021, with a roster size of 23 players, and a taxi squad of four to six players bringing the roster size to 27-29 players. Taxi squad players will be able to travel and practice with the team.

Training camps will open on January 3, 2021, and December 31, 2020 for non-playoff teams. No exhibition games will be played, the NHL will move straight to the 56 game season. Players have the option to opt out if they or have any family members that are high risk for Covid-19.

There very well might be an Edmonton hub, or all seven teams in the all Canadian Division will move to the US if the Canadian health authorities don’t sign off on the protocols to play. This should be discussed further on Monday, per Pierre LeBrun.

Divisional realignment has been discussed a lot between both sides in recent weeks. Fortunately, it has become clear as to how they would shape up, and trans will only play teams within their division. Moreover, the NHL Playoffs will be the top 4 teams in each division. This means those 4 teams will play each other (1v4 2v3), and the winners will face each other to go to the Semi-Finals if the Stanley Cup. Here’s how the divisions are shaping up to be:

Regardless of what some may think hockey is returning, and the chances of Morgan Frost, Tanner Laczynski, Linus Sandin, David Kaše, Wade Allison, Yegor Zamula, and Mark Friedman making the team have improved due to the Taxi Squad players.
