After much speculation, and Shayne Gostisbehere (Ghost) stating publicly that he would partake in a conditioning stint with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Well, D-Day has come, and the Flyers have officially loaned Ghost to the Phantoms on a conditioning stint.

“I would do a conditioning stint with Lehigh,” Ghost said last week. Ghost has repeatedly said he would partake in a conditioning stint, and Alain Vigneault has said that he would too, as well. Ghost had arthroscopic knee surgery over a month ago, and he has been feeling the effects from that surgery for the past few weeks, to even most likely receiving an injection of some sort in his knee this past weekend.

Either way, this move could directly impact the Flyers future, if they were indeed shopping Ghost by the deadline. It is unlikely he will be recalled back to the Flyers by the NHL trade deadline on Monday February 24, 2020, although it is unknown how long the conditioning stint is. Hopefully, Ghost rehabilitates, and gets back to his old form of the Defenseman that posted a 65 point season two years ago.

  1. Great way for the Flyers to be able to showcase a healthy Ghost for a potential trade without having to play him at the NHL Level. Brilliant absolutely Brilliant!
