The Flyers loaned Bobby Brink back to Lehigh last season, and he really took advantage of it. Brink was spectacular, as one could have expected for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He finished the season with seven goals and six assists in 13 games played with the Phantoms, proving once again he’s a goal scorer. Brink hit the rookie wall with the big club, and he has to learn how to bounce back. This was one way to do it, “Feeling confident. Feeling like I have energy,” Brink said yesterday following practice.
Brink is looking for consistency, and he’s found his niche in the early going as he has netted one goal and has registered three assists in five games played. Maybe that move last year to Lehigh paid off, and that’s what he had to restore. It was confidence. As noted above, rank is very confident in him and his game, which is a great sign for the Flyers moving forward.
As previously noted, Brink hit the rookie wall last season, and this happens to most prospects. Some are able to come out of it sooner, and some do not. All and all, it’s part of the growing process, in learning how to become a pro.
“It’s nice to get some games last home, and play in front of our fans,” said Brink. It’s always nice to get that home cooking, and that sense of feel of being home.
Brink might be playing with two veterans tonight in Joel Farabee and Sean Couturier, so things will definitely get interesting. One thing that Brink has to do is skate noticeably, be noticeable.
Hopefully, he will be able to continue his success early in the season.
