Bernie Parent, the legendary Flyers Goaltender and Hockey Hall of Famer who led the team to back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1974 and 1975, passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 80.

The Flyers organization, in partnership with Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education (where Parent served as a 20-year ambassador), is honoring his legacy with several tributes this season, including a public Celebration of Life event scheduled for next week.Event Details

- Saturday, November 22, 2025: The Flyers will dedicate their home game against the New Jersey Devils (7:00 p.m. ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena) to Parent, with special on-ice honors.
- Season-Long Honors: All Flyers jerseys will feature a No. 1 patch (Parent’s retired number) throughout the 2025-26 season. His No. 1 will also be painted behind both goals at the arena. In the locker room, the “Player of the Game” award is a replica of Parent’s iconic goalie mask.
