Covid-19 has been a thorn in the side of everyone throughout the World, and is hitting just about everyone hard. Whether it be financially, mentally, or unfortunately some have contracted this brutal virus. Covid-19 continues to make its presence known.

One team that is affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers in the Reading Royals are back with authority after going dormant in 2020-21. The Royals resigned Brendon van Reimsdyk, and Brayden Low, however, a fan favorite in Corey Mackin will not return as he will play overseas this coming season.

Head Coach Kirk McDonald returns as head of the ship in what is his fourth season of doing such with the Royals, but Assistant Coach Nick Luukko has found another coaching position, now enter James Henry. Henry enters his first season as an assistant for the Royals, as he endures a season of high expectations, given the success the Royals had in 2019-20 before the season was halted due to the Coronavirus.

The painting of the ice is exciting, and it usually means that hockey is on the horizon. The Reading Royals are embarking on their 20th season of hockey, so this is a special time for the Royals family, to include the fans.

What will happen this season is anyone’s guess, but you can rest assure that the Royals will have a ton of giveaways and cheap tickets in store for their 20th season of hockey.
