It’s never too early to start talking about the NHL Draft, and there will be many questions facing this young orange and black team come June. Some questions range from are they going to move up or back? Are the Flyers drafting for positional needs in the system, such as Right-Handed Defenseman or a goal scorer? These are some very valid questions that people have.

Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere looks to build off what appears to be a solid draft last season, as he now spear heads an organization that is littered with positional needs, such as, finding an elite goal scorer. With that being said, there’s a flashy, lightning rod Winger that might catch the eye of Briere with the 12th overall pick of the draft and that is no other than a natural goal scorer in Cole Eiserman. Yes, some are familiar with one of his brothers Shane Eiserman, as he was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2014. Cole Eiserman, on the other hand, stands at 6’0 and weighs 196 pounds, and has all the skills to be a Flyer, “Yeah it’s something I wanted to get, and it’s something I just wanted to improve,” Cole Eiserman said to me in an interview yesterday with breaking the goal scoring record for the USNTDP Team with 127 goals. “I’m very competitive, and I just try to improve on all my skills in the offseason.”

“I try to work on shooting the puck and finding ways to score goals. I try to score as many goals as I can, but I work on all parts of my game in the offseason, mainly on whatever they tell me I need to work on.” – Cole Eiserman said to Jamey Baskow in an exclusive one-on-one interview

This 17-year old, young prospect knew the importance of just having fun, and letting the game come to him. Moreover, he worked very hard in the off-season, and was able to improve his game tremendously for what turned out to be a fantastic 2023 24 season, “I idolize goal scorers,” Eiserman said. “My family is huge. Lots of people in my family played hockey. They helped me out a lot, they keep me focused.” This Newbury, Massachusetts native has hockey running through his blood through and through. His four brothers have played hockey; his dad played hockey, his cousins now play hockey.

Eiserman can skate, and he forecheck with the best of them. He creates turnovers and can transition up the ice with the best of them. Eiserman said he loves rough stuff, to include boar battling as that’s a key part of the sport. He likes to get physical, win a battle, then pot a goal. To be quite Frank, that’s exactly what the Flyers need right now, an elite goal scorer with nastiness a vision, and a know-how to to score goals.

Moreover, Eiserman doesn’t sit around puck watching, he scores in bunches when he gets confident, and he has great vision of the ice, “I’d love to play for Philadelphia. A good history, hard-nosed hockey. My dad loved watching Bobby Clarke.” Eiserman also told me he’s friends with Flyers’ prospect Devin Kaplan, and both will play together at Boston University starting next season. Eiserman has committed to be you, and he’s pretty excited about his new future, especially with a friend in Kaplan, whom both played at the WJC Summer Showcase last Summer.

In his off time he likes listening to country music, and believe it or not, his favorite movie is miracle, “Miracle, solid movie, USA Hockey. Nothing better than that stuff.”

The USNTDP product, Eiserman just wants to show people he belongs in the NHL. He has rounded out his 200-ft game, and that could be quite evident during the second half of the season in 2023-24. Eiserman knows he has to play a 200-ft game in the NHL, he’s a very smart and intelligent player. Eiserman told me he would do whatever the coaching staff asked of him, or play wherever the coaching staff wants, to whomever team that drafts him. He also told me that he doesn’t mind playing for a Team, that’s in the midst of rebuild, like Philadelphia, actually he relishes that.

Hopefully, Eiserman continues to mold himself into a fine hockey hockey player. His unselfish attitude cannot be taught, as Eiserman appears to have a good head on his shoulders. This would be the best time for the orange and black to select a speedster that has a natural scoring ability. The Flyers crave a shot that Eiserman possesses, as they haven’t had a 40 goal scorer since the 2008-09 season with Jeff Carter.
