Flyers Hockey Rob Windfelder

Flyers Developmental Camp is a joyful time for the players that are selected to attend, and for the fans that make the trek out to the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ, where the Flyers practice throughout the course of the season.

Developmental Camp is a great time to show off the new draft picks, and in most cases it’s the only time to showcase NCAA players. Per NCAA rules, a player that plays for a team in the NCAA, they can only attend one camp, so in this case Cutter Gauthier will not be able to participate in this year’s events. In addition, a potential superstar in Matvei Michkov has obligations overseas, so he will not be attending this years event either.

Fortunately, the Flyers have officially released the roster for this year’s Developmental Camp that will run from July 2-July 6, with an off day on Independence Day July 4.

A couple of things to note. Ethan Samson, Tyson Foerster, and Elliot Desnoyers are on the roster, which is good news considering both Foerster and Desnoyers could be vying for a full time NHL job at Training Camp this Fall. Former Reading Royal Jacob Gaucher is a camp invite, along with Alexander Tertyshny who happens to be the son of the late former Flyer Dmitri Tertyshny, is a camp invite. Connor MacPherson, Ryan MacPherson’s brother is also an invite.

One last note folks: Please do not make a big deal out of non participants in Cutter Gauthier. NCAA rules are flukey, so keeps not able to attend
