The Flyers and Alexei Kolosov came to an agreement last Thursday. Finally, yes finally, he is in Philadelphia. He could see some pre-season game action, so let’s see where it goes from here.

Represented now by Goldstar Hockey’s Dan Milstein, Kolosov made his 2023-24 season debut in dramatic fashion, as he pitched a 26 save shutout in a 6-0 Dinamo Minsk victory. For the season, he compiled a 22-21-3 record with a 2.39 GAA, and a .907 Save Percentage.

He played well this past season for the Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. Kolosov stands at 6’1 and weighs 187 pounds. He played in arguably the second toughest league in the world, as he moves laterally post to post well. Kolosov even suited up in two games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season, but was apparently homesick or he just didn’t want to play for the team. Kolosov, obviously failed to report for Rookie and Training Camps alike, but he is finally in Philly.

The stalemate is over, and kudos to Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere for not caving in. This bodes well for the organization, as it does not set the rebuild back. Associate Head Coach Daryl Williams today confirmed he will play tonight. How much time, will be determined, but he will indeed see time tonight between the pipes for the orange and black.
