Flyers’ prospect Alex Bump is set to make his NHL debut tonight (March 7, 2026) against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 22-year-old left winger (born November 20, 2003, from Prior Lake, Minnesota) was drafted by the Flyers in the 5th round (133rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Bump signed his three-year entry-level contract in April 2025 after a strong college career at Western Michigan University, where he earned accolades like NCHC All-Rookie Team and First All-Star honors. This season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Bump has put up solid numbers: 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 36 games.
His recent scratch from the Phantoms lineup last night was a strong indicator of the impending call-up, following the Flyers’ trade of Bobby Brink at the deadline, which opened up a spot.

Bump will draw into the lineup for the 5:00 PM start. Coach Rick Tocchet is scheduled to speak around 3:45 PM EST. Flyers fans have been anticipating this moment—Bump has shown promising scoring touch and earned the opportunity after grinding in the minors. Should be a fun one to watch against a Metropolitan Division rival!
