Flyers’ Developmental Camp kicked off for a third day, as the squads took a brief break yesterday, in celebration of the July 4th holiday.

As the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old winger from the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads was a focal point for fans and media alike. Reports highlight his confident presence on the ice, showcasing the elite skill, size (6’3, 208 lbs), and playmaking ability that made him a top prospect.
His first strides in the Flyers’ orange and black jersey, sporting his signature No. 94, drew attention for how naturally he seemed to fit. Martone’s high hockey sense and dynamic energy during drills. Martone’s performance stood out, particularly in backward skating drills, where his fluidity and skill were evident.

Noah Powell

As a fifth-round pick (148th overall) in the 2024 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old forward showcased his power-forward style, leveraging his 6’2, 201-pound frame to dominate in drills. His wrist shot has improved with more physicality.
He turned heads on Thursday with a hard check on teammate Jack Nesbitt during a drill, followed by shared laughs off the ice. Powell’s ability to pick corners on goalies and his competitive edge were praised, aligning with the gritty identity the Flyers value. His creative maneuvers and puck-launching ability. Powell is a standout both with and without the puck. His recent move to the OHL’s Oshawa Generals after a brief stint at Ohio State (2 goals, 3 assists in 17 games) seems to be paying dividends, as he’s focusing on consistency and skating improvement.

Alex Bump
Alex Bump absolutely stole the show at Flyers Camp today..The 21-year-old Left Winger, a fifth-round pick (133rd overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft, showcased why he’s considered one of the Flyers’ most promising prospects.
Fresh off a stellar sophomore season at Western Michigan University, where he led the team with 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) in 42 games and helped secure their first NCAA National Championship, Bump brought a championship mentality and confidence to camp. His performance was described as a “step above the rest”, with his heavy, accurate shot, deceptive skating, and 200-foot game drawing comparisons to a more physical Cutter Gauthier.
Bump’s standout moments include dominating drills with his offensive flair and physicality, while scoring key goals in the 3-on-3 scrimmage.

I don’t think people realise the steal the Flyers got with picking Martone at 6. Honestly, Martone had it not been for Misa being a center Martone would probably have gone 2nd overall. This is the Flyers second steal in recent drafts (Michkov at 7) . Looking forward to seeing these guys grow and develop over the next few years!
