Aleksei Kolosov has proven that he needed more seasoning and more time to hone in on his development as a Goaltender. Mind you, he is just 22-years of age, so there is no reason to write him off just yet. These type of struggles are typical for young netminder’s, especially those that are trying to adapt to North America.

The Flyers sent Kolosov back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last week, a Flyers affiliate, Danny Briere said at his mid-season presser, as far as he knew, Aleksei Kolosov was willing to go to the AHL. There was maybe some doubt that, that would actually transpire.

Kolosov in the end did report to the Phantoms, and hopefully he continues to find his way in North America.

Unfortunately, Kolosov’s return to Lehigh didn’t go as planned. He was been blasted with 66 shots on net and allowed ten goals, five in each in two games played. Both games were losses to Springfield and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.

Kolosov was able to get a beautiful victory this past Wednesday night in a 9-2 smashing victory. He earned the victory

Today, Kolosov has been recalled by the Flyers, and it could be because of a possible injury to backup netminder Ivan Fedotov. Fedotov took a heavy collision in the second period of last night’s game against the New York Islanders, and it took him a few minutes to get himself back together.

Again, this recall may very well be just in case type recall, and the Flyers do practice tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in Voorhees before they leave for Colorado.
