Recently, Claude Giroux moved into sole possession of the second most points in Flyers history with 884. He registered an assist on James van Riemsdyk’s first goal of the night, which happened to be a power play goal. This wasn’t just any assist that assist just so happened to be his 600th career NHL assist. Giroux is aging like a fine wine, as he leads the Flyers in points this season with 26 (11g,15a).
It’s mind boggling that he still fights for respect in Philadelphia. Giroux is a great player, and should be more respected for his services as a Flyer, as he enters his last season under contract with the Flyers. He just came back out of Covid Protocol yesterday, and boy did he gave a great interview. I asked Claude Giroux if his wife moved from a rockstar to sainthood with being in Covid Protocol again this year and now taking care of the 2 kids. Last year, after he came out of Covid Protocol he called his wife a “Rockstar”, so this question was only fitting after his first practice following Covid Protocol:
“I got pretty lucky she made me food (As Giroux chuckled and laughed). I was locked in the basement. I’m pretty lucky, it was tough missing the two kids.”

Giroux is a family with two children. With being a parent myself, it would undoubtedly be tough not being able to see my kids due to quarantining with Covid-19. Fortunately, he is Covid symptoms free now, and he can enjoy celebrating his birthday with his family to include his wife Ryanne and son’s Gavin and Palmer. Happy birthday Claude, enjoy 34.
