Alexis Gendron put forth quite a year, especially only being just 19-years-old. He netted a combined 55 goals, and 26 assists for two clubs in the QMJHL: Blainville-Boisbrand and the Gatineau Olympiques. Gendron was rewarded for his efforts today, as he inked a three-year Entry-Level-Contract, per Flyers General Manager Danny Briere.

He continued that success for the Olympiques in the playoffs, as he scored eight goals and registered one assist in the Playoffs in a 4-1 series defeat of the Saint John Sea Dogs. He eventually potted 14 goals in 13 playoff games. Gendron just scores from anywhere, but he has to learn to round out his 200ft game a bit more. That comes with time, especially since he is young.

A competitive Gendron stands at 5’10 and weighs 174 pounds. He can play center or right wing. Gendron was chosen with the Flyers last selection in the seventh round (220th overall) in 2022. McKeen’s Hockey had him ranked him 71st overall, to which Gendron could end up being a draft day steal.

“Really competitive kid. He’s grown a huge amount. He was a no brainer for us.” – Flyers Assistant General Manager Brent Flahr said at the draft

This young 19-year-old prospect in Gendron possesses one heck of a shot. He has a quick, but strong release for his wrist shot. I think that fools a lot of netminders and the “Q”. Let’s see how he develops, there is no reason to rush his development. Former Flyer Claude Giroux also played for the Olympiques, and his jersey is hung in the rafters.
