Jakub Voracek tallies his 700th career point, in a 5-4 shootout loss.

After the coming off a shutout victory against the Buffalo Sabres, the Flyers looked to get a win against the Boston Bruins. Down Morgan Frost and Philippe Myers, how would they do it?  Let’s get in to it.

“Shoooooooooot”

Home and away games are quite different this season. If this was a home game, and fans were in attendance. Flyers fans everywhere would scream the infamous “Shoot!” Call at the team, and their televisions. The Flyers don’t show to much offense in that first period generating only three shots on net. Unfortunately, this seems to be an issue with this team early in the season, and in order to score you will have to shoot the puck. A goalie like Tuukka Rask will need to see shots on net in order to get outside his comfort zone, just shoot the puck, generate scoring chances. “You miss 100% of the shots you for take” –Wayne Gretzky.

“Touchdown Turnaround”

Maybe not a touchdown, but congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles on the signing on their new head coach. Welcome to Philadelphia. The Flyers turned it around in the second period, and put up two goals. One by Claude Giroux on a Power Play goal, and one by James van Riemsdyk. JVR also added another Power Play goal in the third. The Flyers tightened it up and took advantage of their chances on the Power Play.

“700 club”

With three assists tonight, Jakub Voracek gets his 701st career point. This is an outstanding accomplishment for the long time Flyer. Voracek is a veteran on this team, and is always looking to produce for the Flyers. He’s had a good start to the regular season and we will continue to look for Jake to continue his success with the Philadelphia Flyers this season. Congratulations Jake Voracek on your 700th career point!!

Mark Friedman is ok, per Alain Vigneault. He was taken out of the game for precautionary reasons.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it
