Travis Konecny is a leader on and off the ice. He’s been flat-out phenomenal since signing his new contract extension this past offseason.

For his efforts, Konecny is moving up the All-Time leaderboard in Flyers history. He currently has 463 points for his career. This is good enough for 18th All-Time in scoring in Flyers history.
He has netted 196 goals and has registered 267 assists for his career. Konecny has just had a great career as a Flyer thus far.
However, I’ve gotten to know Konecny over the course of the years, and one thing for certain is he does not forget where he came from. More importantly, he does not forget those that help him or his family.
Today, at practice he couldn’t be more thankful for his wife Karly, Travis Sanheim and his new wife Alex. Konecny gushes when talking about his wife, and how much she has done and sacrificed for him to be successful in the NHL.

“Huge. Wherever my kids have gotten in their lives, or me with my career, it’s because of their mom (Wife Karly),” Konecny said while sitting in his locker stall. “What she’s able to do for us, it’s a big commitment. You quit your career back home. We get married, we have puppies, we start a family here. She takes all that on, while I’m at the rink doing what I do here and trying to be successful.”
Konecny continues, “Sleeping in, meals, kids aren’t napping, they got to go to school. She takes all that on. She’s real important for me as a hockey player. Life continues on, she’s a warrior.”
“She’s a warrior.” Konecny said of his wife Karly to Jamey Baskow and Matt Seglembeni in a one-on-one interview
Travis Konecny and his wife’s house caught fire last year, about two months before Training Camp began. Thankfully, the Konecny’s were not in their house at the time, but they did lose some personal items. In the same token, Travis was very thankful for Travis Sanheim and his new wife Alex, along with the Flyers organization for helping them through a time of need.
“Him (Travis Sanheim) and Alex (Sanheim) helped out with the house. Insurance got us back some stuff, but lost some valuables and mementos. The baby items, and other important stuff, my wife was able to salvage some of that important stuff.”
Konecny was smiling and laughing in his stall today, thankful for all that he’s been given. Just thankful for the support that he and his family has been given throughout the course of his life.
