It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we, here at Flyers Nitty Gritty, have gone out and found the perfect gifts for each member of our favorite organization: the Philadelphia Flyers. So without further adieu, here’s our buyer’s guide for the team this holiday season:

Sean Couturier – Gold Plated Front Teeth

What do you get for someone who has everything? Well, I mean, almost everything, as you may have noticed Sean Couturier has played the majority of his pro career without a set of top front teeth. It’s about time somebody does something about it, but since he goes all out for the Orange and Black, we’re going all in for him. Plus, dude’s gonna look like a straight gangster with this grill.

Jake Voracek – Champagne

We’re giving a bit of the bubbly to The Champagne Don himself: Jake Voracek. After a rough start to the season, Voracek has seemingly turned a corner, posting five points in his last four games. We feel it’s fitting to celebrate his resurgence at this point in the year and hope he’ll enjoy this bottle.

Ivan Provorov – Oxygen Tent

Ivan Provorov has been a absolute workhorse for the Flyers this season. They’re playing him a ton, and with good reason, as he and Matt Niskanen have been the team’s best pairing by every metric. With all those minutes he’s logging, we want to make sure he can recover quickly so we’ve purchased him an oxygen tent.

Matt Niskanen – Scented Candles

Anything to help ease the pain of that horrific broken nose he suffered during the win over the Detroit Red Wings.

James van Riemsdyk – Crock Pot

Quietly, James van Riemsdyk has managed to become the team’s leading goal scorer with 12 tallies on the season, notching half of them in his last six games. We feel like a slow cooker makes a lot of sense for a guy who took a little while to get there, but is finally heating up.

Kevin Hayes – Duct Tape

Duct tape has many uses and so does Kevin Hayes. Hayes has been pretty great in just about every situation this season. Plus, this guy talks a lot and his teammates might find this gift useful as well.

Carter Hart – Disney+ Subscription

A magical gift for a magical player. Carter Hart has been aces nearly all year for this club. The scary part? He’s 21 and much like Disney+, is really just getting started. The Flyers no longer have to wish upon a star for a star goaltender, their brightest has arrived and is shining brightly in net.

Morgan Frost – Operation

The key to success is, quite often, repetition. This game is a classic and we’ve found the more you play, the better you get. For Morgan Frost, a player who plays with surgical precision, we think this gift will help him find more consistency and have some fun.

Philippe Myers – Jelly Belly Bean Boozled Game

Philippe Myers is, by all accounts, a good player with a high ceiling. Much like Bean Boozled though, you never know what you’re gonna get on a game-in game-out basis. Still, both the game and the young defenseman are fun, so we think this is a good match.

Tyler Pitlick – 12 Volt Cordless Impact Drill

This drill is a great little addition to any toolkit and is incredibly fitting for a guy who has been just that. Tyler Pitlick has been solid on the fourth line this year. He’s provided good energy, a good forechecking presence, and eight points in 31 games. He’s made a nice impact playing a steady game.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel – A Philadelphia Travel Guide

We’re thinking this can give Nicolas Aube-Kubel  some ideas of what to do in his spare time since we hope he’ll be sticking around the city for the foreseeable future.

Shayne Gostisbehere – A Mirror

Sometimes, we just need to take a good, hard look at ourselves. For a guy with so much skill, who was once relied upon to play top pairing minutes and manning the point on the team’s top power play unit, it’s been a pretty disappointing season for Shayne Gostisbehere thus far. He’s been less of a liability of late, but the Flyers’ inconsistent performances on the man advantage could really use a return to form from the dynamic blueliner. We think this gift will assist in getting him back to the true offensive powerhouse we know he can be.

Michael Raffl and Scott Laughton – Giant Foam Fingers

Both these dudes have been fantastic this year, but have unfortunately also both broken their fingers. Scott Laughton is still currently out with a groin injury, but we already bought him one… so… ya know.

Travis Konecny – Bubble Wrap

Would have gone with this for Scott Laughton since he’s been injured in a couple of different ways, but it’s pretty clear that Travis Konecny is much more integral to this team’s success. Hopefully this gift can help keep him in the lineup and continue to build on a season that looks like it’s going to be his best so far.

Claude Giroux – #1 Dad Mug

Claude Giroux became a father for the first time this year and he’s also kinda like the dad of the whole team, being the captain and all. We’re sure he’ll love this.

Brian Elliott – A 2012 and a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

One of Brian Elliott’s best statistical seasons was 2011-2012 and he’s been every bit as good this year. Here’s to aging like a fine wine, Moose. Cheers!

Travis Sanheim – Hoverboard

Travis Sanheim had himself a game against the New York Rangers, racking up two goals and an assist. That’s not exactly how most of this season has gone for Sanheim. He’s been inconsistent, at best, and a liability at worst. We think this gift can help him find some balance both literally and figuratively.

Chris Stewart – Digital copies of every boxing film ever made

For the team’s toughest guy, we’ve gotten something he can watch wherever, whenever, on any device.

Joel Farabee – Boxing lessons

Lesson 1: knuckle sandwiches are not really all that delicious. Refrain from eating them, please.

Justin Braun – Rubik’s Cube

Justin Braun hasn’t had quite the same success as fellow offseason defensive acquisition Matt Niskanen has, so with this gift we’re just trying to get him to figure out his game with this team a little more and solve the puzzle.

Robert Hägg – Candy Canes

Robert Hägg has been mostly fine in limited minutes and situations this year. If he can provide the same steady play when called upon the rest of the way that he has shown to this point, that bodes well for both Hägg and the Flyers. So for Hägg we’ve gotten something that’s pretty okay, if nothing special, in small doses.

Nolan Patrick – Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Everyone knows that Nolan Patrick’s return could make this team better. It makes the Flyers one of the deepest teams at forward in terms of pure skill in the league. We’re really hopeful this small gift can make a big impact on his migraine condition and get him back on the ice.

Oskar Lindblom – Dala Horse Tree Ornament

According to a few, brief minutes of internet research, the Dala Horse is a Swedish symbol of good luck. We’re wishing Oskar Lindblom the very best in his fight against Ewing’s Sarcoma.

Andy Andreoff – Socks

Socks are a sick gift and we really don’t care what anybody has to say about it because everyone needs socks.

Sam Morin – A Lucky Loonie Coin

This kid can’t buy a break. Maybe this Canadian Symbol of good luck can help him do so.

Mikhail Vorobyev – Travel Pillow

Mikhail Vorobyev has had his opportunities and hasn’t taken advantage of them to the point where he’s making it tough on anyone to send him down to Lehigh Valley once everyone is healthy. Our thought here is that he’ll probably shuttle back and forth between the Flyers and Phantoms a whole bunch this year.

Michel Therrien – Hard Drive pre-loaded with footage of Giroux playing the left half wall on the PP

There’s really no explanation needed here, we just hope he gets the hint.

Mike Yeo – Axe

Mike Yeo has done YEOman’s work in coaching this organization’s penalty kill. He currently has them sitting in 7th overall (not a typo) in the NHL. While some of this improvement can be attributed to the stellar netminding work of Carter Hart and Brian Elliott, we want to give credit where it’s due here.

Alain Vigneault – A Puppy

Alain Vigneault has been the best addition to the Philadelphia Flyers this off-season and we don’t believe it’s particularly close. He’s had this team clicking for much of the year and despite a glut of injuries, or nights where their best effort isn’t there, he’s got them winning games. He’s also continuously saying that the team hasn’t gotten to where he knows it can be… yet. For Vigneault we’ve picked up a puppy. We know they’re really hard work at first, but they’re also a wonderful addition to a family. Welcome, and thank you for making this team fun to watch again Alain!

Chuck Fletcher – Philadelphia Flyers Jigsaw Puzzle

And to the man who made seemingly all the right moves this offseason, we’ve gotten a Philadelphia Flyers Logo Jigsaw Puzzle. Chuck Fletcher didn’t go out and make any major changes. He simply addressed the issues that had plagued the Flyers for much of the last five years and has afforded the kids chances to play with the big club. 2nd line center? Check. Deeper, more balanced defense corps? Check. Better coaching staff? Check. Bringing prospects up in order to get a good look at them at the NHL level? Check. Chuck was able to put this puzzle together all while not compromising the future and we think this gift is super fitting.
