The Delaware Thunder are back, and back with a vengeance in Harrington, DE. They might be struggling right now in terms of winning some games, but they are feeling a bit better after a few close calls within the past two weeks.
The proud Thunder fans had something to cheer about early in the season as Ryan “Magic” Marker has played very well, until he sustained an injury over a week ago. Unfortunately, he will be sidelined again for this bout against the Danbury Hat Tricks. He plays in all situations the coaching staff asks of him, and Marker wanted to play closer to his hometown of New Jersey. Marker is an excellent skater that has great acceleration or a first step, has great vision of the ice, and can hit the net nine times out of ten. Marker currently has seven goals, and seven assists on the season in five games played.
Speaking of the Flyers, a former Flyer enforcer might be making his FPHL debut tonight, in no other than Riley Cote. Cote has racked up 411 penalty minutes in his NHL career, so maybe Danbury needed some extra toughness.
The Thunder will likely rotate both netminders again with Trevor Babin and Mike Cosentino splitting reps between the pipes. Unfortunately, it has been anything but blissful between the pipes this season for the Thunder, as the two have combined for a .886 save-percentage. They simply have to be better, to include the team. Hopefully they can pull out a much needed “W” against Danbury tonight.
