The Flyers are looking to redeem themselves and make the playoffs this season. Well, they are off to a solid campaign in 2019-20. Of course, with some highs, a team encounters some adversity. Well, look no further than the Flyers losing Forward after Forward to injuries. Fortunately, the Flyers depth within their farm system has allowed this team to prevail, as they maintain third place in the Metropolitan Division, with healthy bodies like Scott Laughton eventually returning from IR.

Andy Andreoff was placed on waivers this afternoon. He played well his first stint with the Flyers, and provided much needed energy to a fourth line that was in desperate need of such. For the Flyers, he has registered 1 apple in 10 games played this season. However, Andreoff provided 14 hits, 4 blocks, and registered 1 takeaway in his short stint with the big club.

The versatile Laughton was eyeing a return tonight, but he is not yet ready to play. In his place Andreoff will play, as he has yet to clear waivers. Laughton will in turn eye a start tomorrow. He does the little things, and does them well. Laughton skates, plays on the PK, and he is interchanged on lines throughout the lineup. Moreover, Laughton was one of the more consistent Forwards last season for the orange and black. He can be thrown anywhere within the lineup (Based off need), and Laughton never complains about anything.

If the Flyers need an energy shift, Laughton provides that. If the Flyers need a big PK kill, guess what Laughton provides that. This is where the value really lies with this player.

The good thing about Laughton is his versatility. He can play both Center and Wing. The 25-year old is an asset in the locker room as he leads by example. The Flyers look to continue their winning ways against the San Jose Sharks, so Laughton would be a welcomed addition in the Flyers lineup to do just that.
