As we rapidly approach the 2022-23 hockey season. Here are a list of players that could be key to the trans overall success this season.

Kevin Hayes

Hayes was a key player the past three seasons with the Flyers, even though he missed most of the season last year due to injuries and personal matters. Kevin played in 48 games with Flyers last year, and still managed to show his commitment to the team. He went on to net three goals and 24 assists for a total of 31 points. Even after his injury and death of his late brother Jimmy Hayes, he still showed up on the ice with his energy and strength. There is hope that Kevin with come back and be the player we all know he is. Hayes is in store for a good season for himself and the team, and he appears to be in great shape as he has returned early for camp that begins in about three weeks.

Travis Sanheim

Travis is a player that most watched grow into a key player for the orange and black. Now all players have their ups and downs, but Sanheim really stepped up last season. He netted seven goals last season, coupled with a total of 31 points. With Travis being a defenseman, he proved that he can score and defend for his team. If Travis played the way he did this previous season, he could easily become a player to watch.

Cam Atkinson

Atkinson was new to the team last year, but quickly became a fan favorite due to his ability to score. Cam netted 23 goals last season and contributed 27 assists. He is not a player who is shy to put the puck in the net. Cam could be key this year with is ability to find the back of the net, and to make great plays in difficult situations.

Sean Couturier

Coots didn’t see much action last season due to injuries. In previous season’s, Sean was a great player that really was engaged and kept his team afloat. Keep in mind he’s coming back from injury this season, but even with that Coots can come back as good as new and really help the Flyers win some games.

James Van Riemsdyk

James as much as fans doubt him he led the the team in goals last year with 24. He could be a player to watch if keeps finding ways to put the the puck in the back of the net, and he has also returned early for camp in Voorhees.

Travis Konecny

Travis may not be the greatest, but one can’t deny that he’s a good player. Konecny was the team leader in points last season with 52. Another note on Travis, hopefully he continues to progress into a goal scorer as the seasons go on, which could make him a great player this upcoming season.

I know everyone might not agree with my choice of players, but we will have to sit back and wait for the season to start and really see who has progressed.
