Just wanted to add this Jamey. For the Flyers to get Raymond, they would have to give up their 1st (no 25?) plus a good player, most likely a young starter who we all would hate to part with. Would be ok with losing Shayne Gostisbehere(Montreal has always wanted him), but that still would not be enough, so maybe throwing in next years 1st round pick too, would get the 8th pick. That might get Raymond. He would be worth the cost.

Giving up a top ren pick is hard to do, especially the way Montreal’s fan base loves the draft) The one thing that could make the above trade happen though, is that the kids being drafted this year, are being evaluated on how they were playing in February and that means, many late bloomers never got to maturity. The last three months of hockey each year is a time for the cream to rise to the top. This draft is a crapshoot.

Ron Hextall would have run the table in a draft like this, because Chris Pryor would have already had his homework done. I’m not so sure about Chuck Fletcher. He seems unprepared each year that he’s been a GM. Last year, he really missed the target, by blowing the first two picks and not doing that well with the rest of his choices.(I don’t see any of last year’s picks making the NHL). Fletcher is lucky that Ron Hextall left him with a boatload of great prospects. Having said all of this, I don’t see Fletcher finding any gems in this draft. He’s just not prepared and he’s not a good talent evaluator.
