Off the record, I would like to state that it has been an honor to write these pieces
to show appreciation to those who have worn the Philadelphia flyers sweater. It
has been a pleasure, and I hope the readers enjoyed reading them, as much as I did writing them.

Now, with the final edition of the series. Alllllllll aboarrrrddddddd, The Flyers Nitty Gritty will salute- Wayne Simmonds.
Simmonds is a Canadian born player, who spent eight seasons with the orange and black. A trade that sent former captain Mike Richards and Rob Bordson to the Los Angeles Kings In exchange for Former Flyer Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. The man “Philly” fans call “The Wayne Train” played in 584 games with the Flyers compiling 378 points, with 173 goals and 175 assists. Stats like this show what an impact Simmonds was to the Flyers for nearly a decade.

Simmonds represented the Flyers at the
2017 NHL All-Star Game. He was named MVP after netting 3 goals, including the
game winner of the final game. Simmonds now plays for the Buffalo Sabres, in which, he was just traded to Buffalo this past Monday. We will always show much appreciation for Simmonds, and everything he contributed to the Flyers. Wayne Simmonds- We Salute you now and forever!

That’s my story and I am sticking to it!
